Aquarea Air to Water Heat Pump, Residential

Outdoor units:
Indoor units:

With the HydroCap, the outdoor unit of a Panasonic heat pump is concealed in a powder-coated aluminum chimney cap. The Panasonic indoor unit of the system is located directly below in the attic of the house. Because of the attractive chimney cap, the outside of the heat pump is not recognizable as a heat pump. The installation work is minimal and the designer of the home, like the resident, does not have to worry about a stand-alone outdoor unit that has to be in the garden or on a balcony.

Challenge

With a high-quality product, good preparation and skilled people, you won't face any challenges! DHPS has 2-D and 3-D files of the HydroTop that the customer can use. There are also working drawings, specification files, and diagrams for the Panasonic heat pumps. The chimney caps are specially produced and prefabricated per project.

Solutions & Tech Applied

A heat pump does not produce heat, but displaces it. The Panasonic heat pump extracts the heat from the outside air. A heat pump also uses energy, but can transfer heat by a factor of 3 to 6. With current energy prices, a heat pump is a much cheaper way of heating than a gas-fired central heating boiler. This requires investment. A heat pump is approximately 3 times more expensive than an average central heating boiler. The payback periods are on average between 5 and 7 years, but are expected to decrease rapidly in the coming years. Heat pumps consume relatively little energy and can be up to 40% more efficient than the best gas-fired central heating boiler! As of 1 April 2021, new noise requirements will be imposed on (newly installed) installations for heat or cold generation installed outside. This concerns heat pumps and air conditioners that are used in homes and residential buildings. These installations may not cause more than 40 dB(A) of noise for the neighbors during the day and 45 dB(A) at night. Placing outdoor units in front of, behind or next to the house, in the garden, on the facade or on the roof of a garage/storage room is no longer possible with the new noise requirements. Despite the fact that the HydroCap in which the Panasonic outdoor unit is placed does not reduce noise, they are high on the roof and the sound is distributed away upwards. As a result, these installations will pass the noise requirements in most situations.
