To achieve this, they chose an integrated Panasonic Aquarea EcoFleX system which delivers underfloor heating, traditional air conditioning, and hot water production from a compact unit. The building's design also features ample natural light, outdoor connections, and advanced insulation for year-round wellbeing.
Panasonic nanoe™ X technology, included in the Aquarea EcoFleX system, was the obvious choice for cleaner air. This HVAC system and the nanoe™ X technology fit seamlessly into the project's modern design, its sleek lines and the minimalist aesthetic.

The Panasonic Aquarea EcoFleX is an innovative heating, cooling, and hot water production system designed to provide sustainable comfort all year round. It works by harnessing energy from the outside air, making it both sustainable and cost-effective.
EcoFleX is the most sustainable system of the Aquarea range because it uses the energy when it is cooling to heat water. So, the water production in summer time is free. This technical sophistication makes EcoFleX system a perfect fit for the modern apartments of NHEU Melba Homes, where space and energy efficiency are key.

Previously, the Melba Homes team focused on air conditioning systems, due to the challenges of extreme temperatures in Lleida. Now, they prioritize air quality and cleanliness, as residents benefit from this significantly.

An improved proprietary casing design achieves a smoother airflow for lower operating noise, compared to conventional models. It is also equipped with nanoe™ X to inhibit various pollutants for a pleasant dining environment.
Panasonic nanoe™ X technology offers the benefits of hydroxyl radicals (also known as OH radicals) contained in water and has the capacity to inhibit bacteria, viruses, and other pollutants as well as deodorize odors.
