The aim was to improve both the energy efficiency of the existing installation and the reliability of the air-conditioning and wine production system. The installation was about 10 years old but was operating with 4 different machines, each connected to a different circuit in extreme conditions and experiencing frequent maintenance problems.
Challenge
As a result, it was necessary to rectify a totally decentralised industrial installation, with very disparate equipment and designs. The first challenge was to redesign the installation to incorporate a manifold and eliminate machines with very high failure rates and repair costs. The work of cleaning and sanitising the circuits was arduous.
Solutions & Tech Applied
With the Panasonic chiller unit, which can operate in a wide temperature range, it has been possible to provide cooling services to the wine production process with varying conditions depending on the type of production. By unifying the different systems, they can now work in combination and allow changes, repairs or maintenance to be carried out without affecting production or the work of the agricultural scientists (oenologists).
