Cogéclim Energies

Panasonic has equipped the Auberge Ravoux, known as the “Maison de Van Gogh” in Auvers-sur-Oise, with a new reversible air conditioning system. With this equipment, the painter’s last home, listed as a historical monument and visited by tourists from all over the world, benefits from efficient air conditioning, guaranteeing a constant and pleasant temperature, and showing cleaner air quality thanks to nanoeTM X technology.

Challenge

The existing system was obsolete and had to be replaced by a new one that could provide constant temperatures in a cramped environment, under a roof, with a lot of traffic. The constraints were multiple: the main building, old and fragile, is listed as a historical monument and the air conditioning in Van Gogh's room had to be invisible.

Solutions & Tech Applied

The Auberge Ravoux, located in the heart of the village of Auvers-sur-Oise, 30 kilometers from Paris, was the last home of Vincent van Gogh where he spent the last 2 months of his life painting some of his greatest masterpieces. This site, listed as a historic monument, is managed by the Van Gogh Institute whose mission is to preserve the memory of this artist. Having become a recognized cultural site in the region, it is now visited by tourists from all over the world. In 2024, the question arose of replacing the air conditioning system equipping the inn and the famous room where the painter stayed, as well as the adjoining projection room and the nearby guinguette to welcome visitors. The existing air conditioning system being dilapidated, it had to be replaced by a more efficient and energy-efficient system with the constraint for Van Gogh's room to have an invisible solution in this room where everything can be felt. A 12 HP ECOi electric DRV was installed outside, connected to 5 indoor units to meet the heating and cooling needs of the two buildings (inn and guinguette). On the guingette side, 3 wall units cover the needs of this catering venue to comfortably accommodate customers. On the inn side, a ducted unit equipped with nanoe XTM technology has found its place in the attic above Van Gogh's room to air-condition this unique room via an invisible slot. The adjoining projection room is equipped with a wall unit associated with a stand-alone air-e nanoe X generator to guarantee comfort and optimal air quality for visitors.
