Panasonic Ready to Greet the Next Generation at World Skills Ireland
19/09/2023
Panasonic
Heating and Cooling will be attending World Skills Ireland 2023 on 20-22
September. Ready to reach out to a new generation of skilled young people, the Panasonic
team will be at booth S28 in the Career’s Zone at the RDS Simmons Court Complex
in Dubin.
As leaders in
the heat pump manufacturing industry, Panasonic will be attending World Skills
Ireland to raise awareness of the career opportunities within both Panasonic and
the wider heating and cooling industry. With Heat Pumps emerging as an
essential technology to decarbonise home heating, it is crucial that the next
generation can explore this advancing industry and the career opportunities available.
“We are
delighted to be at World Skills Ireland as it is an invaluable place for us to
speak to future workers. We are passionate about raising awareness of Heat
Pumps and how the transition towards more renewable heating is providing
interesting career opportunities,” comments Vincent Mahony, Ireland’s National
Manager for Panasonic Heating and Cooling.
The annual World
Skills Ireland event is a celebration of apprenticeships, skills, and future
education options to inspire young people. It aims to prepare the talent of today
for the careers of the future. With a focus on tackling skills shortages across
multiple industries, the event will demonstrate the abundant career opportunities
in sectors such as heating and plumbing.
Panasonic currently
runs a successful apprenticeship programme in the UK, which is expanding to
cover Ireland. Apprentices will be given the choice of developing in either a sales
or a technical role, depending on their interests and skills. The programme provides
an opportunity to be part of a large and well-known organisation, learn about
the core values and ethos of the business and for individuals to develop and be
trained by leading industry professionals with future career progression within
the HVAC sector.
