Panasonic Presents the Future of Heating and Cooling at Mostra Convegno in Milan
Panasonic celebrated a double milestone at the biennial Mostra Convegno Expocomfort show in Milan this March, marking 100 years of the company and 60 years since the launch of its first air-conditioning product. Panasonic hosted a buzzing stand to showcase new solutions for the residential and commercial markets, while an insightful press conference was the ideal platform to present its global and European growth strategies.
Mostra Convegno is the biggest event in Europe for exhibiting excellence in climate control and renewable energies. The show opened its doors on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, with Panasonic hosting its press conference on the first day.
To open, Laurent Abadie, CEO of Panasonic Europe, shared key milestones in the history of the company, from when it was founded to today. He presented the first residential air conditioner from Panasonic, which was launched in Japan in 1958, and traced the evolution of its heating and cooling business strategy towards the innovative and environmentally-friendly products in the market today: “In the spirit of the company's founding father, Konosuke Matsushita, we want to develop technological solutions that respond to the philosophy of 'a better Life, a better world ', by always placing them at the heart of people's lives.”
Enrique Vilamitjana, managing director of Panasonic Air Conditioning Europe continued: "The objective of Panasonic Air-Conditioning Europe is to become a leader in the European heating and cooling market. By 2020, the Panasonic solutions package will be increasingly focused on the supply of commercial air conditioning and air to water heat pumps (Aquarea), without abandoning residential products. The requirements of the new products will be based on the following key elements: efficiency, air quality, environmental respect and connectivity."
Visitors to Panasonic’s stand had a preview of some of the new innovations and developments for 2018. With an aim of providing a wider range of efficient and more environmental solutions, Panasonic announced a full switch to R32, consolidating all its residential and commercial air-conditioning ranges, including its newly designed RAC floor consoles, split, multi-split and cassettes, to be compatible with this latest refrigerant technology.
Thinking about the refrigeration market and the demands of the latest regulations on atmospheric emissions of fluorinated gases, Panasonic has introduced a new range of CO2 trans-critical condensing units, available in 4kW and 15kW, ideal for applications in supermarkets, convenience stores and petrol stations. The unit will be available in the standard version and in the special version, with high resistance to saline atmospheres.
Panasonic continues to innovate with revolutionary control solutions, including the introduction of Aquarea Service Cloud and datanavi. The Aquarea Smart Cloud interface has been enhanced with the new Aquarea Service Cloud platform, dedicated to installers and maintenance workers, who can now perform servicing and maintenance tasks on Aquarea H Generation heat pumps remotely. New datanavi technology, compatible with the CZ-RTC5B command, simplifies the management of commercial and industrial air-conditioning systems, providing operational, manual and historical data for faster and more efficient servicing.
With 100 years of technical history under its belt and 60 years of heating and cooling expertise, a strong emphasis on environmental awareness and a clear growth plan for Europe and beyond, Panasonic is set to make big strides in the European HVAC market in the coming years.
