Panasonic launches new intelligent remote control panel for hotels
23/05/2014
Panasonic has developed a new intelligent LCD remote control panel which integrates all hotel devices, including Panasonic’s ECOi VRF system.
This new LCD panel from Panasonic is meeting the demand from hoteliers for systems which offer energy savings, and also providing hotel customers with control over the room environment. Panasonic’s remote control integrates all key devices in a hotel room to ensure that visitors can operate the various aspects from one panel.
The systems can be tailored to each installation. The remote control is able to integrate lighting, card reader, blinds, window contact, motion detector and air conditioning. The LCD panel is easy to understand and hotel customers can alter the settings for these different applications.
Being able to adjust the heating and cooling in a room is extremely important for a hotel customer as the temperature required is different for everyone. For this reason, they have access to a number of functions, including on/off, temperature gauge, fan speed, heating / cooling and auto mode.
One of the key aspects of the systems is that it significantly reduces cabling costs during installation. The self-contained unit allows for direct connection to the building BMS with single cable, rather than multiple cables being provided to connect to the various services, significantly saving time and money.
“Customers are beginning to expect a lot more control when they stay at a hotel” explains Marc Diaz, UK Country Manager of Panasonic Heating and Cooling. “Heating and cooling plays a key role in this, as well as a number of other room functions. We identified the need to provide an attractive looking remote panel which provides the customer with the control. Not only does this answer the customer demand, but it also provides the hotelier with an energy saving solution.”
With BMS (Building Management Systems), the hotel front desk can monitor the usage and settings in each room and where possible, alter it to be more energy efficient. This also ensures that if there is an error, the front desk will be able to identify the problem and get it fixed quickly.
The installation is easy due to all the cables being directed to the remote control. A pre-define scenario can be uploaded on the remote control and connected to a computer to provide an onsite plug and play installation option (only on the Lon works model).
