Panasonic Success with Win at the HVR Awards 2024
13/09/2024
Panasonic is delighted to have achieved double success at the recent
HVR Awards 2024. The company collected the award for Collaboration of the Year
with a social housing project, working with housing provider, Together Housing,
installers, Concept Heating and distributor, Graham’s. Panasonic were also
awarded a Highly Commended accolade in the Heat Pump Product of the Year category
for the Panasonic ECOi-W AQUA-G BLUE air-to-water reversible heat pump.
Paul Taylor, Head of Renewable Heating for Panasonic UK commented,
“We are delighted that Panasonic has been recognised in two categories at these
highly acclaimed awards – a win and a highly commended is fantastic! Working
closely with partners is really important to us, so it is lovely to win for our
collaboration with social housing providers - Together Housing, Concept Heating
and Graham’s. Also great to see that one of our technological innovations has
also been recognised. The new ECOi-W R290 AQUA-G BLUE reversible heat pump is
designed to improve energy performance for light commercial, industrial and multi-occupancy
applications and uses the more natural refrigerant, R290.”
Together
Housing is one of the country's largest
social housing providers, partnered with Panasonic to deliver sustainable
heating solutions to over 1,200 properties across the Northwest of England as
part of its “We Can - Go Green Together” agenda. The collaboration has enabled
over 700 homes to transition from gas boilers to renewable solutions using the
Panasonic J Series Aquarea Monobloc air-to-water heat pumps. Distributed by
Graham’s, Panasonic J Series air-to-water heat pumps were installed by Concept
Heating. Panasonic provided 5, 7 and 9 kW units for retrofitting in 1 to
3-bedroom properties, primarily in Yorkshire and Lancashire. This year, a
further 750 homes will benefit from improved energy efficiency.
This project was undertaken as a part of SHDF funding and Together Housing Groups commitment to installing 31,000 heat pumps by 2035. Panasonic and Together Housing are also leading the way to deliver more environmentally friendly communities across the North of England. The team is committed as a partnership to finding innovative solutions to the problems surrounding net zero and retrofitting at scale, these include supporting tenants, upskilling the existing repairs workforce and liaising with local and national government. This project has proven that heat pumps can be both more environmentally friendly but also more affordable for potentially fuel poor households.
ECOi-W AQUA-G BLUE air-to-water reversible heat pump has been designed to meet the ever-growing demands of light
commercial, industrial, and multi-occupancy residential applications. It is powered by R290 natural refrigerant to
deliver sustainable solutions to commercial air to water heat pumps.
The Panasonic ECOi-W AQUA BLUE can reach up to 70° C leaving water temperature, making the heat pump system a sustainable and energy-efficient solution for hot water in commercial buildings. With multiple capacity options, the products can work in cascade of up to 8 units to create an efficient heating solution for light commercial building applications. The unit maximises energy savings and minimises environmental impact by adopting sustainable solutions without compromising on energy efficiency. With high seasonal performance values, and a maximum SEER 4.4 and SCOP 3.9 delivers outstanding performance year-round.
