Panasonic Highlights Key Innovations at ISH 2023
13/03/2023
Panasonic Heating & Cooling
Solutions showcased its extensive range of heating and cooling applications at the
world’s leading trade fair for the heating industry, SH 2023, 13 – 17 March, in
Frankfurt.
The expansive booth featured key innovations from its Aquarea heat pump range together with interactive features, a tech wall highlighting U-Vacua technology, displays showcasing the inner workings of the units, and new R290 Chillers from Panasonic’s expanding range.
Aquarea
Heat Pumps
A selection of Panasonic’s
advanced heat pumps was on display, including Panasonic’s latest K & L
Generation, available to market from Spring 2023. The new models are focused on
improving energy performance and offering a series with natural refrigerant. The
K generation utilises R32 refrigeration, making it an excellent solution for
new homes. Meanwhile, the L generation uses the natural refrigerant R290, which
has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of only 3, and can achieve water outlet
temperatures of up to 75°C.
The heat pumps have been
recognised in the 2022 Good Design Awards. As well as recognising the
performance efficiencies of the units, the judges commended the outdoor unit's
design which blends into the landscape and contributes to the improvement
of the surrounding environment.
Also on show was the Aquarea
EcoFleX with nanoeTM X built-in, the flexible space heating, space
cooling, cleaner air and domestic hot water system. The heat pump uses unique
technology to drive its systems, whilst also operating at impressive efficiency
and energy savings, producing very low CO2 emissions.
The Mini MonoBloc is also on
stand, the efficient J Generation heat pump that utilises R32 refrigerant. An ideal solution for new build projects, the unit
can be easily installed in areas with limited space, or even in larger spaces
that require a more aesthetically pleasing and unobtrusive design.
Furthermore, delegates can see Panasonic’s Aquarea T-CAP range, the solution that ensures heating capacity is maintained even at very low temperatures down to -15°C to allow for the ultimate comfort indoors. Unique technology to Panasonic, the T-CAP heat pump can maintain output capacity even when the outdoor temperature is as low as -28°C.
nanoeTM X
Also on the booth is Panasonic’s
innovative nanoeTM X technology, which comes built-in as standard in
many Panasonic solutions. nanoe™ X utilises hydroxyl radicals which are abundant
in nature and have the capacity to inhibit five types of pollutants, including
certain viruses and bacteria, to clean and deodorise.
Panasonic’s first stand-alone,
ceiling mounted nanoe™X generator is on display
with a live demo on the booth. air-e has a low power consumption and is ideal
for a wide variety of applications where indoor air quality is a priority,
including for installation in hotels, schools, care homes, hospitals, offices,
restaurants, homes and more.
Furthermore, Panasonic’s new
Etherea air conditioner is on display, showcasing its latest nanoe™X technology
generation, Mark 3. The nanoe™X generator Mark 3 emits 48 trillion purifying
hydroxyl radicals per second, five times the amount of its predecessor, and
thus tackles airborne contaminants even faster and more effectively.
Chillers
Panasonic highlights its new
ECOi-W with natural refrigerant R290 at ISH, showcasing its 35kW system and
introducing its impressive, expanded capacity range of 50-80kW. The new chiller
is ideal for air conditioning and heating commercial buildings and industrial
applications.
The unit achieves a SEER of 4.33 and a SCOP of 3.54, with an energy efficiency class A+. This is achieved, among other things, using an innovative plate heat exchanger and a powerful scroll compressor. An intelligent control system also provides excellent system regulation.
PACi
Booth highlights also include
Panasonic’s new PACi NX Elite Series 4, the ideal solution for heating and
cooling with a focus on decarbonisation. The latest solution offers a newly
designed, compact chassis with highly efficient performance. It has an extended
operation range up to 52°C in cooling and down to -20°C in heating, whilst offering quiet operation down
to a minimum of 48 dB(A).
Refrigeration
Panasonic Cold Chain Condensing
Units, which deliver reliable and sustainable refrigeration using the natural
refrigerant R744 (CO2), will be showcased. The solution utilises
naturally occurring R744 which has a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 1,
reducing harmful impact on the environment. R744 is the ideal refrigerant
to help reduce the carbon footprint of any business.
Pure
Hydrogen Fuel Cell Demonstration
Panasonic is showcasing a
demonstration project whereby a Panasonic fuel cell factory supplies 100% of
the electricity consumed in business activities from renewable sources by using
an in-house power generation system combining pure hydrogen fuel cell generators,
photovoltaic generators, and storage batteries.
