Panasonic Begins 2025 With a Double Award Win at HPM Awards
21/02/2025
Panasonic is delighted to receive a double award win at the HPM Awards 2025. The company won the prize for the Most Innovative Product with the Panasonic Aquarea R290 L Series Air-to-water heat pump range, and for the Energy Saving Project category with a large social housing project with Together Housing Group, distributors Graham's and installers Concept Heating. The collaboration uses the Panasonic J Series Aquarea Monobloc air-to-water heat pumps.
This year’s winners were announced on 14 February and celebrated the finest individual talent and industry innovations from across the UK heating and plumbing sector.
John Kellett, UK Country Manager for Panasonic UK and Ireland commented, “We are pleased to see that once again our hard work to deliver sustainable heating solutions to social housing has been recognised. Our projects are a critical part of exhibiting the high efficiency of our products, so it’s great to see both being recognised at this year’s awards.”
Together Housing is one of the country's largest social housing providers, partnered with Panasonic to deliver sustainable heating solutions to over 1,200 properties across the North of England as part of its “Go Green Together” agenda. Undertaken as a part of SHDF funding and Together Housing Groups commitment to installing 31,000 heat pumps by 2035, the partnership is committed to finding innovative solutions to the problems surrounding net zero and retrofitting at scale by supporting tenants, upskilling the existing repairs workforce and liaising with local and national government.
By the end of 2024, the collaboration enabled over 700 homes to transition from gas boilers to renewable solutions using the Panasonic J Series Aquarea Monobloc air-to-water heat pumps, with more to follow. Panasonic provided 5, 7 and 9 kW units for retrofitting in 1 to 3-bedroom properties in Yorkshire and Lancashire using the Panasonic J Series Aquarea Monobloc air-to-water heat pumps, distributed by Graham’s and installed by Concept Heating.
Jon Schofield, Assistant Director of Property at Together Housing said: “It’s great to see our partnership with Panasonic has received the Energy Saving Project award. Our collaborative efforts to implement and educate residents with efficient heating systems has been awarded by the four expert judges, and we are delighted by the recognition of our hard efforts. Our partnership with Panasonic has been built on shared values to implement more sustainable heating practices across the UK, and we hope the North of England project was only the start of our strengthening partnership.”
Panasonic and Together Housing are leading the way to deliver more environmentally friendly communities across the North of England. This project has proven that heat pumps can be both more environmentally friendly but also more affordable for potentially fuel poor households.
Panasonic was also amongst the leaders in product innovation, achieving the title of Most Innovative Product for the Panasonic Aquarea L Series Air-to-water heat pump. The units exhibit excellence in sustainable HVAC technology, using the more natural refrigerant R290, which has a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) 3. The Aquarea L Series is a compelling option for environmentally conscious consumers, seeking heating solutions that are energy-efficient, without compromising on functional capabilities and capacities including 5, 7 and 9kW.
The units offer a quick and easy-to-install system, delivering water outlet temperatures of 75°C down to -10°C. Not only does the range offer retrofit applications – for homes being renovated that have pre-installed radiators – it has the option of an All-in-One compact indoor unit with a footprint of 598 x 600mm that houses the DHW tank.
