Panasonic Announces UK Judge for the PRO Awards 2016

Panasonic has announced that Paul McLaughlin, CEO of the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA), will be the UK judge for the Panasonic PRO Awards 2016. The bi-annual award scheme celebrates excellence in the design, specification, installation and commissioning of Panasonic heating and cooling solutions.

Paul has held the position of CEO since August 2015. BESA is the UK's leading trade organisation representing firms active in the design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, control and management of engineering systems and services in buildings. After graduating with a degree in engineering, Paul spent 25 years amassing his business expertise before taking the lead role at BESA. As CEO, Paul’s role is to lead the organisation to deliver value and benefit to its members while enhancing the reputation of the sector.

“I am delighted to be joining the judging panel for this year’s Panasonic PRO Awards,” says Paul McLaughlin.” I am particularly looking forward to seeing standout sustainable design and clever renewable energy innovations used in this year’s entries from across Europe.”

Paul joins an international judging panel that is made up of experts from across Europe. The judges will utilise their combined knowledge of architecture, building services and the heating and cooling industry to determine the most innovative projects. Judges will also take into account the design’s sustainability, efficiency, cost effectiveness and aesthetics.

The main categories for 2016 are as follows:
• Best Residential Project
• Best Commercial Project
• Best Retail Project
• Best Hospitality Project (Hotels, Restaurants etc)

The panel of judges will also be looking to identify the Most Innovative Project, the Project Demonstrating Best Energy Performance and an Outstanding Project highlighting Panasonic’s innovative GHP technology.

Projects from across Europe are eligible and must have been completed between 1st January 2015 and 30th June 2016. The deadline for submitting entries is 30th September 2016.
