A Brand to Rely On
19/01/2016
Panasonic heating and cooling units have earned widespread acclaim throughout the world. A robust design ensures that the units will continue to keep the room comfortable, and operate trouble-free for many years. Panasonic believes that this is the true value of a heating and cooling solution, and this is why it subjects them to a programme of stringent testing. The Panasonic production line uses advanced, state-of-the-art factory automation technologies to produce products with impressive reliability.
All aspects of Panasonic products are tested, from their durability to storage conditions, and from comfort to environmental standards, to ensure that they are as reliable as possible. This includes a long-term durability test to prove the strength of Panasonic heating and cooling units. In these tests, the unit is run for 10,000 hours of continuous operation under conditions that are much more severe than actual operating conditions. A compressor from a randomly selected unit is also tested after 10,000 hours of continuous operation, disassembled, and then the internal mechanisms and parts are examined for possible failure. To ensure that the units will continue to operate at peak performance in extreme conditions, Panasonic tests them in a high temperature, high humidity chamber that reaches 55 °C, as well as a low temperature test chamber at -20°C.
To ensure that our products not only leave the factory in top condition, but also arrive with our customers still in top condition, Panasonic subjects its units to a range of tests to make sure they remain undamaged during transportation and installation. The shock resistance test, drop test, and vibration test all simulate various incidents and conditions that may occur during transportation, and test not just the products’ robustness but also the strength of our packaging. The warehouse test ensures that even if the units are stored with a number of other units on top of them, in rough conditions, they will still arrive in perfect working order.
Panasonic goes to great lengths to make sure that its heating and cooling solutions keep everyone in the room comfortable, without making their presence known. They are designed to work in the background, with low noise levels that are rigorously tested so they won’t disturb people sleeping, talking or working.
Heating and cooling products are tested in all possible situations to ensure that, whatever the conditions, they will continue to perform reliably. Panasonic’s amenity test takes place in an ordinary living room and tests the cooling speed and efficiency of air conditioning units when conditions such as sunlight change, which helps to confirm whether the unit is performing at optimum levels under ordinary conditions. Even the remote control is tested to ensure its reliability if it is dropped or bumped around, which is essential as it is the primary way users interact with their systems. The EMC test also confirms that the electromagnetic waves emitted during operation don’t interfere with any other electrical products such as TVs or radios.
Panasonic’s manufacturing process is also subject to rigorous standards, ensuring that all parts and materials comply with European RoHS/REACH regulations. We inspect over 100 different materials to ensure that no hazardous substances are included in our products, and inspect every part to make sure it complies with all of the major standards that maintain high reliability in the countries and regions where they are marketed. Panasonic heating and cooling solutions continue to offer the highest possible quality with the lowest environmental impact worldwide. These principles actively support every product and are the result of the endless repetition of challenges and trial-and-error efforts that are conducted at our production bases all over the world.
