Fun Fact: K-drama addicted // Nature and space lover

How do you started in the HVACR industry?

After spending over five years in Consumer Electronics, I reached a point where I was eager to explore new challenges and broaden my horizons within the company. When the opportunity arose to transition into the HVACR industry, I saw it as a chance to step out of my comfort zone and immerse myself in a new and dynamic field. Although I didn’t have a background in HVACR, the support and training provided by Panasonic made the transition smooth and exciting. What initially seemed like a very difficult step turned out to be a rewarding journey.

What are some common misconceptions about working in the HVACR industry?

One of the most common misconceptions about working in the HVACR industry is that you need to have a strong technical background or be an engineer to succeed. While technical knowledge can certainly be beneficial, it is not a prerequisite. Companies like Panasonic invest heavily in comprehensive training programs that are designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need.

Another misconception is that HVACR is a male-dominated industry where women might not find a place or feel welcomed. While it is true that men currently make up most of the workforce, this is changing. More and more women are entering the HVACR field, taking on roles in management, sales, engineering, and technical support.

What do you enjoy most about working in Panasonic?

That we always have something new to learn. Moreover, the culture at Panasonic encourages curiosity and the pursuit of knowledge. Whether you’re in a technical role, sales, or management, you’re supported in your quest to expand your expertise and take on new challenges.

“This industry is evolving rapidly with advancements in technology and sustainability, offering a range of exciting and impactful career opportunities.”

What qualities do you think are essential for success in HVACR?

Adaptability: Being adaptable means being open to learning and willing to embrace new challenges.

Resilience: It’s about maintaining a positive attitude, bouncing back from setbacks, and continuously pushing forward to achieve your goals.

What advice would you give to young women considering a career in HVACR?

I would encourage young women to not only give HVACR a try but to approach it with confidence and curiosity. This industry is evolving rapidly with advancements in technology and sustainability, offering a range of exciting and impactful career opportunities.

How has the industry changed since you started, and what future changes do you anticipate?

One of the most significant changes I’ve observed has been the rapid advancement of digitalisation and automation. These technologies have revolutionised the way we work, making processes more streamlined, efficient, and data driven. For example, the implementation of advanced CRM systems like Salesforce. I could also see that in the short term trends like AI will continue to drive innovation and transformation in the future.
